For extra safety, the two units of the HCB-700 are separated. Attach the Info display at eye level ? the base is flexible and can be mounted where it best suits you. When a call comes in, a quick look at the Info display reveals the name and/or number of the person calling. The other part ? the control unit ? is placed close to your hand. Voice Digit Dialing.
The safest handsfree kit to date. You only have to press one single button to make a phone call. If the number you want to call is in your phone?s address book you can use the regular voice features of your phone. But if the number hasn?t been added

Phone book/call list calling.
You can scroll through the phone book to find the number that you want. The call list on the Info display shows you a list of answered, dialled and missed calls and you are able to initiate calls directly from that list. This is a quick and convenient way to initiate a call to a person whose number you already have in your phone book.
Calling Line Identification.

Having always used Nokia Car Kits the decision to look for units by different manufacturers was a big one. After debating whether to get the Nokia CK-7W, Parrot CK3100 I opted for the HCB-700. What drew me to it was the ability to easily switch between handsets by just pressing a button on the control knob.
Instructions on fitting are clear with only four main wires, these being constant live, earth, radio mute (optional) and live when the ignition is on. All components are clearly marked where to plug into the main "brain". Fitting was straightforward apart from deciding where to fit the LCD and control Knob.
Following the instructions for synchronising phones was straightforward and switching between phones very easy. I can not test the unit to its full potential as I'm using it with a Nokia N70 and Nokia 6230, However; changing the colour of the LCD screen is available and very useful if you want different phones identifed by different colours.
Accepting calls is just a push of a button and if I had a Sony phone voice dial or phonebook dialling would be just as simple.
For those curious about the size of the control knob it sits approximately 4cm high and approx 7cm diameter.

Had this fitted for over a year now, used a variety of different phones with it (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Blackberry, Palm, Sony Ericsson) currently using it with an SE850i, phone book syncs no problems, voice dial works with other phones as well, but seems to work better with the SE850i. Not had any issues with any phone I've used with it.

installation is a bit fiddly but once in the unit is very easy to pair to your handset and from then on is easy to use
sound is adjustable and enables you to hear the caller loudly and clearly
very impressed

Installed this unit myself, a little fiddly if you're not use to taking parts of your dashboard apart like me but I'm happy with the result. Certainly not to be attempted by someone who doesn't have a clue about cars and their electrics!
Ok, now installed I have this working with an old Nokia (work) phone with no issues at all, oddly enough it's not working correctly with my Sony Ericsson phone (W850i), my phones keeps freezing and I need to constantly remove the battery. Had to switch off/on the handfree (easy to do) a couple of times as well as seems to stop communicating however I believe this is linked to my Sony phone!
I've contacted Sony Ericsson and await a response (my phones firmware is upto date) so I will have to say if you have a W850i phone DON'T buy this, it seems fine with other phones however.
Unless I get a positive response from Sony this could well be going back which will really P!^& me off after installing the kit.
Anyway, that's my experience to date, decide as you please.
